Since 1974, D.K. ‘Bud’ Prestwood has managed the international marketing and shipping of over 25 U.S. manufacturers of oilfield equipment and services. During that time, he has worked with foreign Private and National Oil Company engineers in the utilization of the latest technologies in the production of and oil and gas wells. This has included the reconfiguration of their surface and downhole equipment to maximize the production levels of hydrocarbons in older depleted “Stripper Wells”, while at the same time, reducing their lifting costs. He has also been instrumental in developing very effective magnetic fluid conditioners for elimination or reduction of paraffin and mineral scale in downhole tubing and surface flow lines.

Since 1976, Prestwood has managed the export sales and shipping of the computerized pump-off controllers and oilwell dynamometers of D-Jax Corporation. He has personally installed these computers on pumping units in the U.S. and throughout Latin America.

During these thirty years, Prestwood, has assisted overseas private oil and gas producers in obtaining contracts with U.S. manufacturers for annual “blanket purchase orders” of all types of equipment and parts on a highly competitive bid basis to insure the lowest prices and minimum inventory in their warehouses. This has resulted in reducing their monthly cash purchases and the importation on a regularly scheduled basis. These “just-in-time” deliveries of equipment and maintenance parts have resulted in savings of hundreds of thousands of Dollars each year.

Since the production characteristics of oil and gas wells will vary dramatically from different formation depths, there can be many variations of the well conditions and production methods. Prestwood keeps abreast of the latest technology and production methods as they are developed by U.S. manufacturing engineers. The goal is to maximize production levels while maintaining minimum operating costs. Bud is very familiar with the utilization and efficacy of traditional pump jacks and sucker rod pumps; progressive cavity pumps; plunger lift systems; and electric submersible pumps. He has visited over 30 countries and has conducted seminars, lectures, and consultations covering the latest technology and production developments.
