Hollow Sucker Rod Systems for Shallow Stripper Wells were developed over twenty years ago and thousands of these systems have been utilized throughout the United States. The hollow sucker rod system with its special down-stroke downhole pump allows the producer to eliminate traditional down hole tubing and sucker rod strings, making for a much more economical completion on shallow stripper wells. Even using a wellhead stuffing box becomes optional since most of these depleted wells have no discernable gas pressure.

By operating the economical and energy efficient Titan Pump Jack with the hollow sucker rod system, older depleted wells become profitable again. Each Titan Pump Jack comes standard with its own computerized pump-off controller which will completely eliminate over-pumping and damaging “fluid pound”. This will result in even more energy savings, less wear and tear on both the surface and downhole equipment, less lost production time and much longer run times between costly workovers. Because the special down stroke pump pushes the fluid upward through a hollow plunger, it can produce dirty fluids containing up to 20 percent solids such as formation sand, frac sand, and iron sulfides without any wear to the pump. These pumps have operated for over 4 years without lost time and workover costs to pull and replace.

The Titan Hollow Sucker Rod System consists of 1” – 10 thread tubing and the Titan down hole pump especially adapted to produce the fluids up through the hollow sucker rod on the down stroke. The falling weight of the hollow sucker rods force the fluids up the hollow rods and out through the top through a steel reinforced flex hose into the surface flow line.

If you are drilling a new well, you can save even more capital by slim-hole drilling and utilize good used 2-7/8” tubing as your working casing. For older, depleted wells you can suspend used (even leaking) 2-7/8” tubing as your working casing. Since no fluids ever pass through this used tubing, it only has to be strong enough to support itself and the seating nipple. Even at that, you can suspend a weighted seating nipple from the bottom of the downhole pump. 

The Titan hollow sucker rod system can be configured to produce between 25 to 30 bbls of oil per day. If natural gas is available, the Titan pumping unit can be supplied with a small gas engine and battery operated auto start and stop system with it own engine controller and engine monitoring system.
