Beam
Balancing Formula.

W1 X D1 = W2 X D2

(The Ajusta Pump beam can easily be balanced through experimentation with weights and an amp meter. The balancing formula will allow for a more precise starting point or is for those who wish to understand the full dynamics of Ajusta Pump.)

W1 = Weight on horse head end of the beam.
D1  = Distance from horse head end of the beam to fulcrum.
W2 = Weight on pitman arm end of the beam.
D2  = Distance from pitman arm end of the beam to fulcrum.

Due to circumstances that occur in the field, the formula shown above is to be used only to begin the balancing process. To achieve Ajusta Pumps greatest efficiencies the beam must again be balanced as described in the instructions for Diagram 8 and 9, once oil is flowing.

Anchoring Instructions.

There are two methods by which Ajusta Pump can be anchored:Oil Field Equipment Services

  1.  Ajusta Pump holes in each of the base gussets. Bolts set in concrete can be run through these holes and secured with appropriate nuts and washers.

  2. A 48" piece of angle iron, 2 x 4 lumber, etc., can be run across the top of the base and secured to bolts set in concrete. In this application, make sure the carriage has been positioned before selecting the locations of the concrete anchor.

Note: Although Ajusta Pump has been known to operate without being anchored, it is strongly recommended it be anchored. This is especially true for remote locations.
