-
Predetermine stroke length and crank length -
D1,
D2 and W2, see Operating
Instructions.
-
Set base unit on pad and insert horse head beam in
place ( have D1 predetermined).
Slide base up to push rod and:
A. Determine initial location for Ajusta Pump
on the pad;
B. Determine if the height of pad is sufficient in
relation to the stuffing box or the polish rod liner.
TIP: Use railroad ties if the pad cannot be raised.
-
Attach the transmission to base mount.
-
Attach the fly wheel to
the motor - DO NOT permanently
secure the fly wheel, sometimes the motor has to be removed when anchoring
the unit after assembly is completed.
-
Place lower crank arm on
the transmission.
-
Place the middle beam in position - DO NOT place
the weight balancing beam in position yet.
-
Attach the pitman arm to beam.
-
Attach the upper crank arm to pitman arm.
-
Attach both crank arms
together.
TIP: using the fly
wheel, rotate the lower crank arm until it is pointed up. Then
attach the crank arms.
NOTE: When the crank arm is in the 6:00 o'clock position,
the beam should be extended such that the upper pitman arm bearing
is directly above the transmission shaft (see Diagram #2 of
Operating instructions).
-
Rotate the fly wheel until one complete stroke cycle
is completed. If no problems occur, once again rotate the fly
wheel to check the size of the desired stroke.
-
Adjust the stroke size if necessary. Check
the adjusted
stroke size.
-
Place the hanging bar and cable on
the horsehead and
polish rod.
-
Check alignment of the
horse to polish rod. Adjust if
necessary.
-
Put the weight balance beam in place.
-
Add counter balance weights (pre-calculated).
-
Rotate the fly wheel by hand, noting
the pressure applied
on down stroke and the up stroke. Balance weights
accordingly, until you feel the pressure applied to the flywheel is
approximately the same on the up stroke and down stroke.
-
Wire the motor and amp meter (amp meter is an optional
purchase).
-
Secure the fly wheel permanently.
NOTE: Use the lock tight on Allen screw and shaft. The recessed side of
the flywheel should face the motor.
-
Double check to confirm all
the bolts are tightened.
-
Place the safety bolts in place on
(Model 4000):
A. Balance beam.
B. Horse head beam.
-
Anchor unit to the base mount, as shown in the
Operating Instructions.
-
Start Motor.
-
Check the balance of
the beam by use of an amp meter
- see the motor warranty card.
NOTE: This step is essential to validate warranty for motor!
